CLIMATE AND VINTAGE
The first three months of the year were slightly rainy and with temperatures in the seasonal average. Month
in April there was a sudden drop in temperature which caused a partial
reduction of production in the lower areas. May started with a pretty climate
rainy and dangerous from a health point of view but the subsequent entry of the summer was
characterized by a great drought and high temperatures. Also the months of July and August are
really hot and dry. The harvest began with the expected advance of around 15-20
days. Great vintage for quality but with a modest production.

VINIFICATION AND AGING
The grapes chosen, equal to 125 quintals, for the composition of this cru were harvested in the
following dates: September 23 Black Malvasia while Sangiovese, with surprising advance,
already on September 25th. Fermentation has developed on a regular basis with the usual control
of temperatures. The replacements have followed numerous throughout the fermentation period and the
maceration lasted until the 23-day threshold. After the racking of 70 hl the wine has passed
in the barriques where the malolactic fermentation took place. After the assembly, the wine is
returned for around 14 months in barriques of Allier of which 75% new. The bottling was
carried out on May 14th 1999 obtaining 8,256 bordolesi and 400 magnum.
